The Jordan 14 x Aleali May ‘Fortune’ is inspired by Aleali May’s first pieces of jewelry given to her as a little girl by both of her grandmothers. She found her inspiration during a trip to Shanghai, two years ago in 2019. She visited an exhibit hosted by jewelry design house Tiffany & Co. A piece from the late 19th century caught her eye because it was crafted with jade and brought back memories from her childhood. Her first pieces of jewelry, given by her grandmother, were Jade. That’s also where the name ‘Fortune’ comes from. Jade is all about good fortune, bringing good energy and protection.
For Aleali May the choice for a Jordan 14 silhouette was an easy one. “The Jordan 14 represents luxury. And when it comes to girls, our first thing of luxury will be jewelry”, Aleali May says in the campaign video.
